(MANCHURIAN LILAC) Compact, deciduous shrub 4-6’ tall and wide with lavender to ice blue, fragrant flower spikes in May; blooms on last year’s wood so prune only once immediately following flowering. Sun for best flowering, good air circulation, prefers rich, moist soil (but takes some drought once established). Especially good selection for the south. Mildew and deer resistant.
