Aka Porteranthus trifoliata (BOWMAN’S ROOT) This lovely woodland plant makes the most delicious filler! Usually 2’ tall but if really happy 3’ creating a relaxed clump about as wide. Pretty, trifoliate, woodsy foliage is topped by floating masses of white starry flowers on wiry red stems May-July. An underused perennial that grows easily in average to well drained soils in part shade; enjoys moisture and humus rich soils. Takes a bit to get established, but long lived and sweet between layers of other plantings. Nice red fall color.
