My favorite of this species – refined and elegant, this deciduous, dwarf Barberry is a mere 18” tall and 30” wide in a tight flattened dome shape. Its velvet brocade leaves of red purple are absolutely stunning. No pruning required...formal looking, great color all season with a little fall fire! This would be awesome paired in a knot garden with a silver leafed partner! Fine choice for mixing with heathers, dwarf conifers… specimen for the rock garden, foreground in the border. Full sun in most soils, drought tolerant, deer resistant, red winter berries.
