(SWAMP MILKWEED) Beautiful perennial that provides the perfect nectar for butterflies and foliage for caterpillars (and other beneficial pollinators)! 3-4’ tall bolt upright stems massed in 2-3’ wide clumps are topped with luscious rose colored clusters of vanilla scented flowers midsummer to fall. Native to swampy areas, so it thrives in clay soil, bogs and pond side…but also grows well in well-drained soil with average garden conditions, as long as it is in full sun, it seems easy and happy! Cool seed pods. Deer rest. Tap root, so once established, leave it!
