BERBERIS SIEBOLDII

RARE attractive deciduous shrub to 4’ high and wide forming a mound of arching branches armed with spine leaves. New growth has lovely bronzed red hues aging to green. Fall color is a glowing burgundy (sometimes mixed with orange!). Flowers in March drip from branches in tangerine tones. Most soils, dry to moist; full sun to part shade. Demands are small and shrub is maintenance free! So good looking you’ll want to hug it…but don’t! Good at the coast; deer proof; great thicket forming barrier plant for securing a perimeter. Z5 4” pot
