(MAHOGANY BUGLEWEED) Carpeting perennial 2-4” high that suppresses weeds, elongated round leaves emerge black burgundy in spring and mature to a nice mahogany by summer. Spikes of blue purple flowers 6-8” April May. Can be mowed or sheared after bloom to rejuvenate foliage. Average soils with good drainage, part shade (3-4 hrs sun best) – dislikes humidity & wet heavy soil. Evergreen in all but coldest range. Deer resistant and walnut tolerant.
